Of all the seas that weave through the seven continents, none present more
pleasure and reward than the Mediterranean. A cruise through the gem-toned
waters of the Aegean and Adriatic Seas offers a perfect introduction to
Greece. Unpack once and awaken to a different port each day. |
| Choices: |
| There are the well-known
mega-liners that carry more than 2,000 people through the area. Resorts in
themselves, with an emphasis on gambling, dining, Broadway-style shows and
a whirlwind of shipboard activities, they offer good value for this type
of vacation, but are very limited in the number of places they can visit. |
| At the other end of the
spectrum are the small, yacht-like ships, some very luxurious. They create
an intimate atmosphere without the grand-scale entertainment and
facilities of the larger vessels. |
| Mid-sized ships offer a
happy medium. On board you’ll find some of the facilities of the larger
vessels and the comfort and attentive service of the smaller ships.
|
| At Liadis Travel, Ltd., we
suggest a mid-sized ship, a small yacht-like vessel, or a chartered yacht
to visit the intimate Greek harbors that the mega-ships must pass by. If
the giant ships are what you prefer, what better seas to navigate than
those in the Greek Isles. |

From the moment you step
aboard a Windstar ship, you will realize that you are “180 degrees from
ordinary”. As one of the 148-312 guests on board you’ll feel as if you
are on a private yacht rather than a cruise ship.
Each ship, framed in striking white sails (the technology that unfurls
the crisp sails 204 feet in two minutes will amaze), is elegant, graceful, but
designed to be functional and comfortable.
The environment gives you the freedom to choose to have all the privacy
you want, or to be pampered. There
are many activities at hand, but never imposed.
For seven days Wind Spirit and Wind Song will lead you on a
personal odyssey from Athens to Istanbul by way of the Greek Isles.
The “casual elegance” of a Windstar Cruises’ sailing is an
unforgettable way to explore Greece.

Star Clippers offers the
essence of sailing in its purest form, on ships where computerized systems have
not replaced human hands in the ancient ritual of raising sails. The engines are
used only when necessary, sailing lessons are offered to those interested, and a
casual, laid-back, friendly atmosphere abounds. Passengers and crew are
from all over the world enriching your travel experience. Nothing can
compare to standing on deck in the moonlight watching the dolphins follow the
graceful ship as it glides to its next destination. Star Clippers offers
mega-yacht sailing at a price which is often less than you would pay for a nice
cabin on a typical large ship. This cruise line provides a wonderful
alternative to mass market cruising while being in full harmony with the
environment, the sea and away from ports congested with tourists.

CHARTERED YACHTS
|
 |
|
For a truly private
Mediterranean cruising experience, a chartered yacht is ideal.
Liadis Travel offers a comprehensive selection of skippered sailing
yachts and fully crewed yachts. Chartering
a crewed yacht is a relaxing experience, as the crew will handle all navigation
concerns. The itinerary is up to
you. At each island it is your
choice whether or not you wish to anchor in the village harbor, in a private
cove or a larger harbor. For either
the experienced or the novice yachtsman, a sailing trip through Greece’s many
islands offers the bright contrast of color, sounds, and tastes that make a
vacation exceptional. Pre- or post-cruise hotel
accommodations can be easily added to itineraries to enhance your vacation in
Greece.
